What happened to “Never Again” in Darfur? Why should we care about child soldiers in the Democractic Republic of Congo? What is the status of the U.S. War Crimes Act, and why has it never been used? What has led more than half of the world’s countries to join the International Criminal Court?

Where are Americans in the world of international justice?

When it comes to mass atrocities, we like to think they don’t happen. Or if they do, we hope they stay confined to those “faraway places.” But in an interconnected world, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide transcend all borders. We may not know it, but a Congolese child soldier impacts our lives right here in the U.S. And most importantly, she needs us to act.

This blog is dedicated to raising Americans’ awareness of and commitment to advancing international justice. Through education, advocacy, and activism, we can show the international community that justice and accountability are American values, too.
